ANNUAL TRIP TO KEATS ISLAND - AUGUST LONG WEEKEND

What:  UBC Keats Island 2009 Sailing/Camping Adventure
When: Aug. 1 - Aug. 3, 2009 (August long weekend)
Cost:   $100 Cash (not associated with UBC Sailing Club payment system - organized independently)

The Event

On Saturday morning, August 1, a large fleet of UBC Sailing boats of all sizes and shapes will face the elements and brave the seas from Jericho Beach
to Keats Island, located opposite the town of Gibsons in Howe Sound. We will camp on Keats Island (with loads of fun activities, yummy food, swimming,
and socializing), until Monday morning August 3, then sail back to Jericho to arrive in the afternoon/evening on Monday.

All boats, food, camping and transportation costs are included in the trip fee.

Registration

Official sign-up starts July 6 and ends July 15.  (There is no need to rush, as we will look at all sign-ups on July 16th).

Important Note

Due to the nature of this trip and the limited space available, we will not be organizing on a first come, first served basis. Although we’d like to make the trip available
to everyone, factors such as sailing experience and volunteer contribution to our club will be considered. (It’s never too late to help out with club volunteer activities!)

Advisory

1. This trip is a sailing trip first.  If you feel ill just thinking about spending 5+ hours in a small boat in rough conditions out in the Strait of Georgia or feel squeamish
about the concept of peeing in a wetsuit you’re spending the day in, this trip isn’t for you.
2. A wetsuit is mandatory... peeing in it isn’t.
